Las Cruces Public Libraries are inviting residents to participate in the Branigan Book Club, a literary discussion group that convenes on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The upcoming meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, at the Kiva Room in Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, located at 200 E. Picacho St., accessible via Roadrunner Transit Route 1.

The club focuses on books with a serious and literary theme, encompassing both fiction and nonfiction genres. The reading list through January 2025 includes:

- October: "There There" by Tommy Orange

- November: "The Night Watchman" by Louise Erdrich

- December: "Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion" by Gregory Boyle

- January: "The Vice President’s Black Wife: The Untold Life of Julia Chinn" by Amrita Chakrabarti Myers

A small collection of these books is available for checkout each month for book club participants at Branigan Memorial Library.

For additional information, individuals can contact Deanna Duffy, Librarian, at (575) 528-4005 or via email at [email protected]. Those requiring accommodations for a disability should call the library at (575) 528-4102 at least 48 hours before the event.
