A plane participating in the 2024 Las Cruces Air and Space Expo crashed on Sunday afternoon, the second day of the event. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. during the event at Las Cruces International Airport.
First responders and airport rescue teams attended to the downed aircraft. Currently, there is no information available regarding the cause of the crash or the status of the pilot.
The Air and Space Expo was supposed to conclude at 4 p.m. on Sunday, but the remaining portion of the air show has been canceled due to this incident.
New Mexico State Police will take charge of conducting the initial investigation into the accident.
