Summer students from the Las Cruces Public Schools' Class of 2023 are set to graduate on Friday, June 30. The ceremony will be held at Centennial High School's gymnasium, starting at 6 p.m., with doors opening an hour earlier.
The event is organized by the principals of all LCPS high schools. Susie Hendee, principal of Centennial High School, will give the welcome address. Eric Fraass, principal of Mayfield High School, will deliver a speech during the ceremony. Michelle Ronga from Rio Grande Preparatory Institute will present the class for commencement. Principals will jointly present diplomas to graduates.
The ceremony will conclude with the traditional turning of the tassel led by Gabby Alaniz, principal of Arrowhead Park Early College High School. The reading of graduates' names will be done by Brenda Ballard and Michelle Paz from Las Cruces High School and Jim Schapekahm from Organ Mountain High School.
