Residents in certain areas of Las Cruces will face a temporary water outage on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The outage is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., due to Crosstown Construction connecting a new water line to the existing system.

The specific locations affected include Pecan Drive from NM HWY 478 to Violet Way, Violet Way from Pecan Drive to Astor Drive, and Astor Drive from NM HWY 478 to Violet Way. Adjacent areas might also experience disruptions.

Residents in the impacted zones will receive door hanger notices at least 48 hours before the scheduled outage. Following service restoration, there may be discolored water caused by iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. The City advises against doing laundry until the water clears up.

The discoloration is expected to clear within 24 hours. If it persists, residents should flush all faucets for five minutes. For continued issues, they can contact the City of Las Cruces at 526-0500 for assistance.

This interruption affects areas within Dona Ana County. For more details or inquiries, residents can reach out to the Public Works Department's Contracts Administration at 575/528-3098 or use TTY at 575/541-2182. Utility Dispatch is available for after-hour assistance at 575/526-0500.
