A vehicle crash occurred on Friday morning at the Imperial Sky Motel on West Picacho Avenue, resulting in one fatality. At approximately 11:30 a.m. on December 6, Las Cruces police and fire services responded to the incident at 1865 W Picacho Ave.
According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban was attempting to exit the complex when it collided with the building. The collision impacted a 59-year-old man who sustained minor injuries and a 55-year-old woman who died at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be withheld until family notification.
The driver of the Suburban, aged 22 and the sole occupant of the vehicle, remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement authorities. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
