Voting opens for National High School Soccer Player of the Year

As the year 2024 concludes, High School on Sports Illustrated is spotlighting top athletes from leading teams nationwide in fall sports. The publication invites readers to vote for the National High School Soccer Player of the Year in both boys' and girls' categories.

The boys' category features 25 nominees, while the girls' category includes 20 nominees. Voting remains open until Thursday, January 23, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Voters can explore stories about each athlete and their achievements.

Notably, two students from Las Cruces Public Schools in New Mexico have been nominated. Evan Kraenzel, a senior midfielder from Centennial High School, scored 23 goals and made 11 assists this season, helping his team secure the Class 5A state title. In the girls' category, Mia Barela concluded her senior season at Las Cruces High School with an impressive tally of 31 goals and 74 points, leading her team to second place in Class 5A.
